Dual Seal Glass welcomes new apprentices during National Apprenticeship Week

Two new colleagues have joined Dual Seals’ Quality Assurance apprenticeship programme during National Apprenticeship Week.

Operating from their central Huddersfield base Dual Seal Glass is one of the UK’s leading independent processors of High-Performance Vision and Insulated Spandrel Glass Panels for the construction industry.

With a long history of providing Glass processing apprenticeships to new hires the introduction of this new apprenticeship provision is a real step in the right direction for the organisation.

When we asked them what attracted the two apprentices to Dual Seal’s provision they both had a similar story to tell.

They were both in full-time education and decided it wasn’t the right fit for them, preferring an opportunity where they could learn on the job and earn a wage.

Matthew, having already completed a glass processing apprenticeship is now one of the first apprentices to progress onto a new quality assurance apprenticeship with the company.

When asked what three things were best about his apprenticeship, Matthew quickly responded:

Learning on the Job, the help and support available and time provided to apprentices away from the workplace to learn and study.

Understanding the positive impact of employing apprentices within the business. Health, Safety & Technical Manager Oliver Ashford, has played a fundamental role in providing an open and supportive environment for apprentices.
Recognising the importance of a natural talent pipeline has been essential to the business and invests heavily in its workforce.

A long history of apprenticeship recruitment means that at any one time around 20 apprentices are employed in the business and this is set to increase in 2020!

With the introduction of six management apprentices, ten glass processing apprentices and four quality assurance apprentices due to start in the next few months.
